The scoop...

So, now that the mercury has risen here in the frozen north, The Daniels 5 will be few and far between with the postings. My youngens love to be outside, well let me rephrase that. I love to be outside, but my children go from one extreme to another, one minute they are crying and banging on the doors to get out of the house (usually when it is raining, extremely windy, or so cold it would make their noses fall off) and the next minute (when it is beautiful and sunny and not windy at all and warmer) they want to stay in and watch a barrage of Blue's Clues, Bearenstain Bears, Curious George, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Veggie Tales, Thomas the Tank Engine or any Disney Classic we happen to have on hand.

I just wanted to let all you readers know (all what, 5 of you) to check in occasionally, I promise to post about once a week. Our usual, funny stories about the short people*, and life in general here on the farm. Oh, and speaking of, here in our metropolis of Hamilton, we just got ourselves a brand new, super cool Tractor Supply store, YeeHaw! So of course we made our maiden voyage already. I happened to ask when they would get a supply of baby chicks, and they will have them either this week or next. Cause there is nothing like visiting a "free" chick petting zoo as a reward for good behavior.

Kids you have been so good today, lets go to Tractor Supply! Whoopee Maw! We will be cherubs every day of our lives so long as we go to visit the chicks at Tractor Supply.

Well I was thinking about us living here in the barn and I though it would be very appropriate if maybe we brought home some of those little chicks. I am trying to talk Brian into building us a chicken coop, we have our yard fenced in, so we could just let them roam the yard. Although I don't know how long they would live with the boys chasing them constantly.

I have always liked the way someones yard looks with chickens running about. There is just something very nostalgic about the whole scene. My aunt used to have some and my cousin Cassie just acquired several, I want to join the chicken club!

Here's to wishful thinking!

Yes! I vote yes for you getting chickens. Do you ever read Katie's Apple Pie blog? She makes me want chickens.

One of the gals here just got 7 or 8 chicks. They were all snuggled down with each other last night. On the plus side, she'll be sharing some eggs when they get busy in a couple more months! Yippee!

If the yard is fenced in you can totally sit and sip coffee and blog while the kids chase the chickens around.

You should so get chickens. The kids will tire of chasing them eventually and they're a lot of fun.

You also have a sentence in the blog something about free chick petting. I'm sorry but that sounds kinda nasty.
