OH the stink!!!

for those of you who don't know, we live on the biggest independent hog farm in New York State. (we rent the old farm house from the farmer) We are literally 100 yards from 6500 pigs. Most days you would never know that they are there. BUT, when the wind changes you would think that 6500 pigs are living in the house. Today, believe it or not, it has been down right hot we set a record of 86 degrees. For people who live in the frozen tundra we don't have Air conditioning, so when its anything above 65 degrees, we open the windows. Well when the windows are open we are at risk for anything that might come floating on the breeze. when it comes from the west, south or east it smells perfectly fine, BUT when that breeze shifts to the NORTH, that means that the the wind is bringing the stink of 6500 pigs and the holding tanks that all their POO is in RIGHT in the KITCHEN WINDOW, and swirls it around the house like its canned air freshener! So right now as I type this I am gaging on the smell of PIG S%&T. don't you want to come hang out with me! Thank god that the wind normally blows from the west!


OH HAPPY DAY!!! THE WIND SHIFTED AGAIN!!! no more pig stink! for now!

sorry been a little slow

Hey sorry I've been a little slow in writing...now that I am over my Hair situation all is well with the world. Bailey went for her one month check-up on Friday, she was 8lbs 11oz. the little porker, I can't get over how much she has changed in the last month. she has some serious baby acne, I don't remember the boys having much of that. Does anyone know is baby acne a precursor to bad acne during puberty? lets see what has happened since I wrote last.....Oh BIG NEWS...Brian interviewed for a job at Tops Distribution Center, (big grocery store chain in these parts) He had that interview on Friday...he got called today to come back for a second interview on Wednesday!!!! OH happy day, because surprise surprise...his boss is late with the pay check again! that reminds me, I'm a Mary Kay consultant and I have a pretty full inventory, so if anyone ever wants to order something let me know I can send it out asap...I am also running a sale on all my color inventory. 40% off!!! Enough soliciting! (sorry) I forget sometimes, now that I am not working as much, I did earn a free Mary Kay car, about two years ago...that was before baby #2. Now I just don't feel like taking the time! but i still love the products and keep my inventory up. .........enough about that.....Back to Brian's job! This would be awesome because he can keep his current 2nd job (part time at University at Buffalo) and leave from there everyday and go to Tops...the bad thing is that we are never going to see him...his hours at tops will be from 5pm-1am Friday-Sunday and on call Monday - Thursday. His job at UB is from 8am-1pm...his boss said she would adjust his schedule to make it easier on him he won't have to go in to UB till 11 and get out at 4:30. The Lord really blessed us this week, my brother stopped in with 5 HUGE packages of diapers. some sizes for Cameron, Hayden and Bailey. Since we are still 3 in diapers that was a huge blessing, because we were just about out for Cameron and Hayden. He got them from a small church he visited and the pastor mentioned to him "he we got all these diaper and we really don't need them do you know anyone who might need diapers" God is so good! Just wanted to share that with everyone, just when you think, (in our case) Where are we going to get the $$$ for that, God provides! gotta run!

what a month...

wow, Bailey is one month old today...i've said it once and I will say it again, time flies...what has happened this month, Bailey was born, much sleep was lost, Brian took a 50% pay cut, Brian's mom and dad came and left. Brian's sister found out she was pregnant. Today has been another stressful day, Brian's last pay check bounced (again) that makes the 4th check in the last 2 months. He might as well quit, seeing as he isn't getting paid anyway. Not quite as important, i got my hair highlighted and it turned out like skunk stripes, when you are not feeling good about yourself after just having a baby, adding a bad dye job to it doesn't help. My mom paid for me to have it fixed this evening. oh well, I'm not at liberty so say who did my hair, don't want to hurt anyone's feelings. well bailey is sleeping i guess i better get some too...

Time goes by

WOW time flies don't it! I can't believe that my mother-in-law will be leaving on Tuesday...it seems like she just got here. As much as I can't wait to have my house back to myself and get back into the swing of doing things on my own again, I am really going to miss her. She has been such a big help, especially with the boys. they are really going to miss her too, I am not looking forward to all the tears that are going to be shed over the next couple days till they get used to nanny Gwen not being here. I am looking forward to not eating fried food, Brian and I probably gained 10 lbs since she has been here, between her great southern cooking and sweet tea, talk about oink oink!

anyway, changing gears, breastfeeding is going much better, I just need to get some sleep at night, which I should be doing right now. but oh well, Bailey will be a month old already.

I was just reading on Tracy's blog about how she feels she doesn't get to devote enough time to each child and I completely understand. I worry about Cameron the most, some of his not so appealing personality traits are starting to shine through and it scares me. I just hope God prepares and equips us for the future, I can't even imagine the TEEN years with him, he is so strong willed now, time-out doesn't even effect him, usually the only thing that gets through to him is a good swat on a bare leg, which I hate doing but his behavior tends to improve for a short time afterward. Anyway, I could go on all day about my kids discipline problems or should I say MY lack of discipline techniques.

well I need to get some sleep, little bit is out and i have just wasted the last 20 minutes writing on here.

why does the us government make things so hard

Ok, some lovely person had fat fingers or something and typed up Bailey's social security card and Birth Certificate wrong. Her name came printed as Bailey "Mae" her middle name is supposed to be "Rae" simple typo right?! Well try getting it fixed.....i go the first time to the Social Security office with all the correct paper work filled out for a name change and my drivers license. Let me inform you that I go in and (THERE Is NO ONE IN THE PLACE) the girl tells me that I have to get a Number... I take a number and then she says out loud through the window (as I am heading to sit down) Can I help you, I turn, are you talking to me, (of course she's talking to me, there is no one else in there) Why in the name of mike did I have to take a number if I was the only person in there? Anyway besides the point, the girl tells me that I can't change her name because I need official documentation with her name on it, well every bit of official documentation that I have with her name on it has her name wrong....she tells me to go home and look for discharge papers from the hospital there should be something with her full name on it...well i do that and the only thing I can find is her Hep B paper that has her first name and middle initial on it. So I go back today with that and all the other papers that I originally went with...and the office was packed with people (go figure), well my number finally gets called and what does she tell me "this is not official documentation from the hospital...I can't use this"....i said well you better, cause that is all i have. So she gives me this look...you know what i mean by "this look" and types on her computer for a couple minutes. Then she hands me a paper that says she fixed her card it will now read Bailey R Daniels. I ask "are you not going to print her full name on the document, she says "I can't this says her middle name is "R" that is all I can verify" I said her middle name is RAE, can you not simply retype it as RAE, she says NO, not with out seeing it on an official document.....what the hell she is 3 weeks old do you want her credit card statement too!!!!

Ok my point is that 3 weeks ago, I made up this name.....I can't help that someone had fat fingers and typed her name wrong, why do I have to go through hoops to change ONE Fricken letter!!!!!!!!!
