So, now that the mercury has risen here in the frozen north, The Daniels 5 will be few and far between with the postings. My youngens love to be outside, well let me rephrase that. I love to be outside, but my children go from one extreme to another, one minute they are crying and banging on the doors to get out of the house (usually when it is raining, extremely windy, or so cold it would make their noses fall off) and the next minute (when it is beautiful and sunny and not windy at all and warmer) they want to stay in and watch a barrage of Blue's Clues, Bearenstain Bears, Curious George, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Veggie Tales, Thomas the Tank Engine or any Disney Classic we happen to have on hand.
I just wanted to let all you readers know (all what, 5 of you) to check in occasionally, I promise to post about once a week. Our usual, funny stories about the short people*, and life in general here on the farm. Oh, and speaking of, here in our metropolis of Hamilton, we just got ourselves a brand new, super cool Tractor Supply store, YeeHaw! So of course we made our maiden voyage already. I happened to ask when they would get a supply of baby chicks, and they will have them either this week or next. Cause there is nothing like visiting a "free" chick petting zoo as a reward for good behavior.
Kids you have been so good today, lets go to Tractor Supply! Whoopee Maw! We will be cherubs every day of our lives so long as we go to visit the chicks at Tractor Supply.
Well I was thinking about us living here in the barn and I though it would be very appropriate if maybe we brought home some of those little chicks. I am trying to talk Brian into building us a chicken coop, we have our yard fenced in, so we could just let them roam the yard. Although I don't know how long they would live with the boys chasing them constantly.
I have always liked the way someones yard looks with chickens running about. There is just something very nostalgic about the whole scene. My aunt used to have some and my cousin Cassie just acquired several, I want to join the chicken club!
Here's to wishful thinking!
We live life; sometimes it's interesting

She strikes again*....or maybe....she just doesn't like me. You be the judge
So, she made me promise not to show these pictures to anyone because it would ruin her as a Hair Stylist! But i couldn't resist! and this was just too good to pass up posting about!
I asked her if she would color my hair for me, I have been wanting a lighter shade of hair since Bailey was born. Well I was thinking along the lines of a light brown base, maybe a dark blond base with some highlights!
cough.....cough......cough!
THIS IS WHAT I GOT!
Brace yourself
are you ready?
ok here it is.....

It looked so bad I couldn't even stand the thought of looking at the camera when I took this picture this very morning. Yes that is me with as, Cameron Eli Come Back Here says, yeyyow hair. He actually stated, mommy I don't like your haiw yeyyow, i want it bwown. (me to buddy, me too)
i actually slept in a do-rag all night because I couldn't bare the thought of waking up in the morning and seeing myself in the mirror.
I don't know what she was thinking she was going to get when she put 30 volume bleach on my hair. So at 8:30 this morning we made the 23 mile drive into New Hartford to the Cosmo Prof to purchase some Toner and developer and about $100 worth of other random beauty supplies to get my yeyyow hair under control.
as of 2:30 pm, this is what I look like now

This one makes me cool
So while getting ready for school today. Hayden was rushed up stairs after eating french toast, to brush his teeth. Then rushed down stairs to get shoes and coat on. I happened to remember that we got a very nice spring coat in a recent bag of hand-me-downs and put that on him. Brian was waiting at the bottom of the stairs with a different spring type jacket. Brian thought that the jacket he had picked out would be a little warmer than the nice preppy coat I found in the closet. So he (Brian) takes the preppy coat off Hayden and tries to put the jacket on him. Hayden cranks up the whine machine and states.
"But that one makes me cool."
Now does a 4 year old understand the concept of being "cool" as in too cool for school or was he refering to the temperature?
Whatever it maybe, he got to wear the coat that makes him cool to school today!
and here are the cupcakes we made for his class to celebrate his 4th Birthday!

i got nothing
well I got something but I got nothing for the blogospheres lately.
So I have been sick, I mean really sick, like I haven't been sick since I was a kid. It started on Wednesday, about the time I finally got over my night out with Tracy. I had a little of the postnasaldrip crap and it was giving me a little tickle in my throat. Well Friday morning my voice really started to go. I had to work, so I just sounded like a really coughcough sexy phone sex operator. (no comments from any of my tables about my voice) Friday night I was in agony by the time my shift got done. Saturday I comtimplated calling in sick, but needed the money so opted to give it a go. What a mistake, by the time I got home saturday night I thought I was swallowing razor blades. Why is it that when you have a sore throat your body produces more saliva? Anywho, I couldn't stand it anylonger, Sunday morning, I sat up in bed and declaired "I can't take it anymore, I'm going to the Emergeny Room!"
go to the ER, walk right in (complete shocker!) Big Guy ER Doctor, says "open up and say AHH, Um, well here is some Hydrocodone pills and an antibiotic." he brought back a piece of paper that said I have acute laryngitis and a possible viral throat infection.
Now a normal person probably would have questioned Big Guy ER Doctor about why the antibiotic when he thought it was a viral infection, but I heard the words "Hydrocodone blahblahblahblahblah..." and knew that that stuff would take the edge off the razor blades I was swallowing and didn't question anything.
But this morning, I woke up at 4:30 in excrusiating pain, went down stairs took a Codone pill, and one and a half hour later, it hadn't made a difference. I got up at 8:30 and took another one and right at the moment I think it finally kicked in. Cause I'm feelin REALLY loopy!
Anyway, I got a phone call into my regular Dr this morning and she isn't in on mondays, so they want me to come in tomorrow morning. I hope she can actually tell me what is going on inside my throat. In the mean time my and my bottle of Hydrocodne are gonna snuggle down on the couch and well, take a nap*
*don't worry about the kids, my brother** is here.
** well on second thought maybe a slight concern for the kids might be called for.
