the true Joy of getting ready for work

So yesterday I was getting ready for my first night of work. We have to wear a long sleeve button up denim shirt that says Rusch's Bar and Grill on the left breast and Khaki pants with black belt and black shoes. Doug, the manager/owner, is pretty particular about how crisp our clothes look, and emphasized that we weren't to have "hanger lines" on our pants. So I got my pants out that I haven't worn in like a year and a half (they're actually a little big, go me) Well they were pretty "creasy" So I went down stairs to iron them, which meant that 3 little kids were coming down with me. By the time i got down to the iron, cleaned off the ironing board (I don't iron much) plugged the iron in, and got my pants off, Hayden had gotten in trouble and had to be sent up stairs, which meant picking him up over the baby gate. I'm getting to my point just bare with me. Anyway, I took off my pants just before Hayden had to get sent up stairs, and I didn't think to bring anything with me to cover up my bum, my shirt doesn't cut it. As i picked Hayden up over the gate my butt was completely exposed (I was wearing a thong, I know that probably is more info than some of you wanted to know, sorry mister!)

Well Cameron looks at me and says "mommy where you pants?"

"I had to take them off to iron them".

Wrinkling up his forehead and looking at my bum very disgusted at the site he states "That not a good idea."

Thanks bud.

So i grabbed a sweatshirt and tied it around my waist

Cameron still looking disgusted says "That not a good idea eiffer!"

Ok Ok I get the message!

so anyway my first night of work was a lot of fun. We didn't make any tips it was a private party for Doug's friends and family. (Like 200 people) we passed trays of Hour'derves and filled glasses of free beer and wine all evening. Doug sent me home at about 10pm. I really liked it though. It was fast paced and I got to carry on adult conversation and interact with people in the community, the people I work with are great and the patrons were fun! I'll be working 3 nights this coming week I'm really excited about it.

I used to waitress and truly miss it. I still dream of it a lot. Glad you are enjoying it.

Funny story. I could see my kids saying the same thing.

Your husband's a lucky man. Most guys just dream about having a wife who does the laundry in a thong.
